Addie's 1st birthday planning

Photobucket
If anyone follows me on pinterest...you've probably already seen my growing "Addie's 1st birthday" board!!  And for those of you that don't pinterest...you totally should - but...in all seriousness, the planning is well under way in our house.  Here are the main points:

Theme - Ducks and bubbles - the cute little yellow kind!

Colors - Bright pink, tiffany blue, and bright yellow

Food - still planning this part but I'm thinking BBQ with some other good southern comfort foods

Desserts - sugar cookies and cupcakes...i think

Decorations - I had some beautiful banners made by Kelli and am planning to use lots of balloons, lots of candy, and brightly colored tablecloths....and not to mention...lots of pictures of Addie's first year.  I want it to be classy and simple and have seen a ton of inspiration via some of my favorite blogs and of course, pinterest.

Invitations - I'm back and forth on this one as well - I'd love to do something with the theme for the invite but unfortunately everything I've seen with ducks didn't fit what I had in mind.  I also love the invites that have between 4 and 6 pics from different points during the year so we'll see where I end up!

My hope is to put together a to-do list of everything I need to complete VERY soon - I feel like I have 8 million ideas floating around in my head and I really just need to pull it all together.

DId you check Etsy for invites? You can get them custom made for like $15 and then print them yourself at Costco or Walmart. (that's for the photo kind, but I bet you could put duckies and on them!)

Love the theme!

I love the theme! How cute! I'm still trying to come up with a theme name...my inspiration is shabby-chic vintage - colors are muted blues, oranges, pinks and creams.

No way!!! I was totally planning rubber ducky theme for my little Isabelle too! How awesome is that?!
(she's just not into any other character (which usually I think is kinda gaudy anyway)) but she LOVES her rubber ducky.

Unfortunately, I am NOWHERE near as organized or prepared as you are.

Yay for first birthdays!!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love all of your party ideas! I've got to join Pinterest.

Because I love food, here are some ideas:
Have a candy buffet with candies of the different colors. You could even just get M & M s or jelly beans in pink, yellow, and blue.
Have different kinds of lemonade: pink, regular (yellow), and maybe blue raspberry (does that exist?)
Take pretzel rods, dip in white chocolate, and cover with pink, yellow, and blue candy crystals/sprinkles.

You've probably already thought of these things. I love little kid birthday parties - maybe since I don't have kids of my own yet. I may dread them then. Ha ha

Just know it will turn out perfect! Have a family memeber or friend take TONS of pics for you. You will be running around like a mad women and will need the help in that department ;)

I know what you mean when you say you hav 8 million ideas floating around in your head! I think I might have one project too many right now. There's just not as much time as there used to be! I love the theme you have picked out. I too have been struggling with the invite thing. I wonder if you could find someone to do a custom one for her on Etsy?
